I2 Higgins IdP with CardSpace V1

Successfully created an account and used a self-issued card to authenticate. Then issued a managed card and installed it. When I tried to usethat managed card on the MS RD Any IdP I get a failure where the card cant find the self-issued card that was associated with the account.

Tested with IE7, CardSpace v1, running on Windows Vista.
